Advocacy
An advocate is someone who represents individuals or groups.
CODA will ensures that clients know their rights to access an advocate to speak on their behalf. Disability advocacy is important. It makes sure the rights and interests of people with a disability are respected.
CODA is active in representing the needs of clients and their families and carers. This occurs through participation in local and regional groups and consultation. Advocacy organisations form part of our regional networks.
CODA will assist clients to access an advocate of their choice. They will also support them to self-advocate should they wish.
If you are interested in more information on this matter, CODA has it’s brochure on Advocacy including contact details for where to go to for support.
